Koningu!

Koningu!

By Ummikko!

This is one serious ape! The sculpt is cartoony and freaky and amazing! With the most impressive opposable thumbs on any rotocast figure I have ever seen, Koningu is a crazy jungle beast with awesome fur and massive pectoral muscles and lips! Even the big brute's monkey toes have a ton of character! By far one of my favorite toys of all time, hearkening back to the rubber gorillas of my youth, purchased with crumpled sweaty dollar bills at Woolworth's. The header card says it all! Stark! Frank! Brutal!

Rotofugi!

We went to Rotofugi in Chicago. It was my second trip to the store, and it hasn't changed much over the last three years. It has a nice little gallery and a good selection of kaiju, sofubi, designer vinyl and other odds and ends. There was also a very nice, clean public restroom (rare!) and the shop dog waddled over and was sweet and let me pet him! The store has a fresh clean vibe and I enjoyed the visit!

Jesse Narens Stegoforest!

Stegoforest, by Jesse Narens, is an awesome dinosaur/plant hybrid monster cast in flesh vinyl and painted with green, blue and orange sprays. The eyes are the best part! He has a somewhat startled expression that cracks me up. He comes with the battle damaged Acorn Warrior omake and is ready for some crazy Jurassic adventures. In hand, this toy is bumpy fun.

Stegoforest has 3 points of articulation, at the tail, neck, and left leg. His Stegosaurus spines are actually pine trees, which is awesome, and he has rocks and ferns growing off of various parts of his lumbering body.

The Acorn Warrior is a forlorn little fellow with some parts missing due to obvious altercations with other dinosaur types. He is a neat little sidekick and a great bonus figure, fun to carry around in your pocket on a walk through the woods!
